OK people... the final Chaser arrived at Chaser HQ this morning and it's fully vibesin'... from the day-glo orange cover with Ian Wright's supa dupa specially commissioned artwork to the Nu Skool Features to the brilliant image of Cachao (thanx mephisto!) to Andy Thomas' deep 7 page feature on Shelter NYC (love Dustin's pics) to Peter Williams' powerful Brasilian portraits... nuff stuff!
Yes, it's the boom... thanx to all the people who advertised... every penny helps... believe!
Thanx to all the people who contributed to this mag... the designers: Swifty, Mitch, Matt / the scribblers: Andy T, Max Reinhardt, Swax, Amar Patel, Tyler Askew, Gilles P. Louie Vega, Ross Allen, Jez Smadja, Al Burton, Max Cole, Kate Wharton, Michael Krasser, Will Page, Lubi Jovanovic, Nik Weston, Dom Servini, Claudius Hilliman, Amanda Vincent, Martin Messonier, Derek Michael, Ciliffy, Keith Baker, Jamie Renton, Kristen Sweat, Kid Kanevil... /the photographers: Alexis Maryon, Peter Williams...
Of course... big shout out to Lady B... production manager and office controller!
Basically, we wanted to leave y'all with a mag that shows we are the baddest out there! Deeper... mo'phunky... than the rest!
All those people who say magazines are dead... need to check this issue of Chaser. We've continued to innovate and hopefully you'll enjoy the spirit of improvisation. The Freedom Principle reigns!
Let us know what you think of the mag... a bit of feedback would be nice!
The mag should be in the UK shops by the end of the week... the US shippers are due at the office later today... Make sure you get your copy ASAP... I think the collectability factor will be high! You feelin' that?
Laters,
Paul Brad
PS: we are doing a slammin' SALE of back issues via the web site. ALL available back issues are now 50p plus postage!

Excellent! news finally! I already chased for it in Brussels Waterstone branch (where it´s usually available) and was wondering if it was already sold out. Anyways, more infos for non-subscriber on how to order this (very unfortunately) last issue would be nice (nothing in Chaser website). Will it be on sale with the back catalogue (would love to order some of the oled ones as well as I have only last couple of years)? What a nice magazine it was and for that a big head up. |

I will miss the feeling of excitement (I know - sad) when I see a new issue of "the Bible" on the shelf. No mag will ever top the quality of the artwork, the smell of a new issue, the cool features, undercurrents and the charts, and of course Max Reinheardt's "It don't mean a thang".
Best of luck to all who have been involved at SNC in the future. I hope you can all keep in the same sort of creative field that you have been in up to now.
RIP to the the Magaziine of WORLD JAZZ JIVE.

I'm quoting from an e-mail I received as a subscriber to SNC: | Quote: | We are committed to maintaining standards
and if we are to survive into the future we decided to wind down, pay off
our debts, and re-organise along different lines.
Initially, we will be upgrading our web presence so that we can deliver
regular podcasts, reviews of the lastest music, dvds, books etc plus long
interviews done by our regular contributors. We are currently looking at
producing a hardback book that reflects our musical and visual journey over
the past two decades. To accompany the book we aim to organise an exhibition
of photography, art works and graffix that will travel the world. In line
with projects we will aim to hold various musical events and via. the web
sell quality prints from the Chaser Gallery or from photographers like Peter
Williams, Alexis Maryon, Chris Clunn et al. We are also considering
publishing what we will describe, for now, as “Chaser Specials” - what these
will be we are not sure but when they happen they will be wikkid. | This doesn't sound all too bad, does it? If they successfully move to the 'net and can keep up their quality output ... SNC might remain a valuable resource for us all.

Ordered mine (last) Thursday evening through the SNC website, and it landed today (together with back-issue vol.1 #6) ... thus now leaving me with only vol.1 #3 and #13 to complete the full story
and what a story it is
