This website as you know it will cease to exist on June 28, 2009. We'll close the forums and launch a brand new Beyondjazz.net blog.
The internet has evolved considerably in the past six years, and it's about time Beyondjazz gets along. We've been talking about and working on a new Beyondjazz for more than a year now. For various reasons those ideas never materialised, until now. We're scaling back a little, and returning focus on quality content, and the podcast.
If you've been following the forums in the past few months, you've no doubt noticed a decrease in actual discussions, and an increase in parties, playlists and plain advertising. Unfortunately the Beyondjazz crew cannot invest the same time and energy into this site as we used to, so we decided to scale back. We'll keep the forums as a searchable archive, but you won't be able to post. Concerning private messages: we'll keep them for three more months, so you can copy what you want to save.
Closing the forums doesn't equal closing down all interaction. You'll be able to comment on all posts, and communicate via Twitter. And we'll strongly encourage everybody to send in guest articles or suggest interesting topics.
In the coming two weeks we'll start shifting things around and stripping everything but the basics. Don't worry though, in two weeks you'll get a brand new design. We hope you'll feel at home in the new Beyondjazz!
